Tahnee Lam brings over 23 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families. Her work combines program development, behavioural support, relationship development, and practical parent coaching.
Experience and parent coaching
As Owner and Executive Director of New Step Consultation Services since 2009, Tahnee has designed and directed programs for children and youth, supervised interventionists, and provided direct parent training. Her earlier work included implementing individualised behavioural programs, facilitating peer play, and supporting social skills through community outings.
A Certified Relationship Development Intervention® (RDI®) Program Consultant since 2007, Tahnee has designed client programs, conducted Relationship Development Assessments, trained parents, and supervised RDI® assistants.
Education and qualifications
Tahnee completed her Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary (Educational) Studies. Her studies included learning disabilities and interventions, self-directed behaviour, and assistive technology for students with special needs.
Additional coursework has covered applied behaviour analysis, advanced behavioural topics, and autism spectrum disorder.

Tahnee has presented an introduction to RDI® for a local community audience and contributed writing to Define and Defy: Unleashing Your Inner Potential (2015) and the Sino Times: Western Canada Edition (2013).
Life outside work
Outside of work, Tahnee is a competitive amateur tennis player who enjoys spending time on the court. She loves spending time with family and friends, travelling, and especially caring for her precious dog, Sobey.
