Featured Talk: Capable, but Stuck
Helping students build executive function and independence
Getting started, organising materials, managing time, and following through can become sources of friction at home. This session gives parents practical ways to understand where their child gets stuck and work together on the next manageable step.
Drawing on her experience with gifted and neurodivergent learners, Tahnee connects executive functioning strategies with relationship-based parent coaching. Her approach is also shaped by navigating her own executive functioning challenges and developing practical strategies to support herself in everyday life. She brings this personal understanding to her work with families, with a focus on useful routines, confidence, and increasing independence.
What parents will take away
A clearer starting point: break a task into a specific first action.
A practical planning routine: make time, materials, and competing commitments visible.
A coaching approach: agree on helpful check-ins and gradually adjust support as skills develop.
